KELLY PARK

Our weekend visit during the first week of Sept was to once again to Baby Krishnamoorthy's house.
But this time, instead of passing time at home, we went for a walk in a park near their home.
The Park was named KELLY PARK.

ABOUT KELLY PARK

Kelley Park in San Jose, California, USA is 156 acres (631,000 m²), including diverse facilities such as Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, the Japanese Friendship Garden, History Park at Kelley Park, Portuguese Historical Museum, and Viet Museum
within the history park. Most of the rest of the park is picnic areas,
lawns, groves of trees, and plenty of pathways in between.

Kelley Park is located at the intersections of Story and Senter Roads in East San Jose.

The land was once a farm owned by Judge Lawrence Archer, a former mayor of San Jose.

Though there are so many things to see around, due to lack of time (we went almost at the time of sunset ,which was closing time) and my tiresome,

We visited just the JAPANESE FRIENDSHIP GARDEN.

JAPANESE FRIENDSHIP GARDEN

The Japanese Friendship Garden is a walled section of Kelley Park in San Jose, California, USA. Dedicated in October 1965, it is patterned after Japan's famous Korakuen Garden in Okayama (one of San Jose's sister cities). The three main ponds were stocked with koi sent from Okayama in 1966. The ponds are at different elevations in the park, and are inter-connected by streams.

After a nice time at the park, We headed to Lakshmi Ganapathy Temple nearby.
Good Darshan and Aarthi was performed.
With a peaceful light heart after prayers, we parted ways with Mr Ganga & family , bidding them goodbye for the day.
Good Dinner brought our day to a good end.
