Mallika Badrinath's Pasiparuppu Sambhar for Idlies
Ingredients:
- Moong dhall(pasi paruppu) : 100 gm
- Carrot (diced) : 1
- Beans ( diced) : few
- Potato : 1
- Small Onion : 5
- Big Onion Chopped : 1
- Tomato : 1
- Slit Green chilles : 1
- Sambhar Powder : 2 Tsp
- Coriander Seeds : 2 Tbsp
- Curry Leaves : few
For Tempering:
Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds , Hing.
Method:
- Wash the dhall well and add enough water to it such that it is immersed in a Pressure Pan.
- Add the diced Veggies,small onion,chillies.
- Pressure Cook to JUST 1 Whistle.
- Fry Cut big onions, tomato in little oil.
- Add to cooked dhall in the pan.
- Add curry leaves,sambhar powder and salt.
- Fry coriander seeds in little ghee and grind roasted seeds to coarse powder after cooled.
- Allow the sambhar to simmer in low flame.
- Add the coriander seeds powder towards the end and simmer just a minute.
- Turn off the stove.Temper with seasonings.Garnish with coriander seeds if required.
- Serve with steamng hot idlies or Dosas.
Note: This recipe Does NOT require Tamarid. So all those Tamarid haters..this recipe goes for u!!
