Home made Iddiyappam

HOME MADE IDDIYAPPAM








Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Nirapara Iddiyapam rice flour,
  • 2 tsp oil, 
  • 3 cups boiled water 
  • pinch of salt.
  • You will need a vessel you can use to steam cook it and also an idiyappam press/murrukku maker.
Method:

  1. Mix the rice flour and salt well. Add the boiled water when still warm little at a time till the dough is soft to touch. 
  2. Mix in the oil.
  3. Take small portions and put into press.
  4. Press directly onto idly moulds and steam cook till done. 
  5. You can sprinkle some grated coconut before steaming, for the added 'Kerala' taste.
  6. Serve hot with Vegetable Stew.
