Some months ago we planned a sudden trip to CLEAR LAKE.

It was a wonderful getaway and a nice spot for relaxation.

Clear Lake State Park is on the shores of California’s largest freshwater lake.
The area is popular for all kinds of water recreation, including swimming, fishing, boating and water-skiing.

HISTORY OF THE PARK

Several thousand years ago, a landslide blocked natural drainage from a valley into the Russian River.
The water rose until it found an outlet through Cache Creek into the Sacramento River to form Clear Lake, the largest natural lake entirely within California.
Most of the water comes from runoff. Some comes from springs in Soda Bay.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

The Entrance to the park is 3.5 miles northeast of KELSEYVILLE on Soda Bay Road, north of Calistoga in the wine country.
But that would have taken a longer time for us to get there.
The usual entrance and immediate one would be if your resort has the access to the lake.
Thats the way we got. We booked a wonderful resort called THE LAKE ESCAPE RESORT.

LAKE ESCAPE RESORT s the place to stay if you want to fish, play, or just relax on California’s largest freshwater lake.
It is close to town and just minutes by boat to all the fun at Konocti Harbor.
The best fishing on Clear Lake is on the south end, around Lake Escape Resort.
This resort is an ideal place for anglers because of the ample space for boat parking, easy ramp access and clean, comfortable rooms.
I loved playing with the Ducks and Canadian Geeses. The look from the Pier was too awesome.
You should try visiting this place too!!
